On the ever-approaching arrival of Liliana June

We've got about 18 days until you're no longer an only child.  You'll gain the title of Big Brother, Older Brother, Broheim, and whatever else she wants to call you.  Our plan is to keep things as normal as possible for you while still allowing you to meet Lili and figure her out.  I'd be lying if I said that your dad and I weren't scared sh*tless of how this is all going to go down.  The lesson today is that even though you know or you're pretty sure something is great, you can still be scared, you can still have fears, and you can admit when you realize it wasn't as great as you thought or at least it wasn't as great as soon as you thought it would be.  We're pretty sure that having you and Lili so close in age is going to be great.  Definitely not great in the moment for the next year or three, but it'll get there.  Infants and young men such as yourself require a good amount of attention and energy and its that same energy that parents of infants and young men don't have much of.

So some things you should know about when Lili arrives:
1.) I'm going to be in the hospital for 2-3 days and your dad will probably be there with me most of the time.  You're going to get some serious hang time with Babcia and Nonna, and you'll hang at home so its as normal as possible for you.
2.) You can come visit us in the hospital as much as you want, I hope that's a lot because I am going to miss you for those few days.
3.) When I come home, we're going to have to have a lot of couch time because I wont be able to pick you up for a few weeks because of my surgery.
4.) Since Lili is so little, she has to eat every few hours.  The only way she has to let us know that she's ready to eat is to cry.  You did this when you were her age, so hopefully you won't get too mad if she wakes you up.  Your dad and I will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
5.) Your dad and I might be a bit more tired than usual, but that's not your fault, it's totally ours.
6.) We hope that you two will grow up to be great friends.  But its also okay if you aren't, sometimes even siblings are just really different people.  All we ask is that in front of us, you fake it :)
7.) I love you so much.  You should always know that and I hope that you never have to ask out of actual wonder because it means I'm not telling you that enough and I'm not showing you enough how absolutely awesome you are.
